Consequences for Getting a DUII in Oregon

The consequences for getting a DUII in Oregon include significant penalties, financial and otherwise. For drivers without a previous DUII offense, Oregon law specifies penalties that include:

• Minimum fine of $1,000
• Minimum license suspension of one year
• Either a minimum of 48 hours imprisonment or community service
• Drug and alcohol screen and treatment, at your own expense
• Obtaining SR-22 insurance

Fines and other penalties are more severe for drivers with aggravating circumstances, such as refusing a chemical test or driving with a minor in the vehicle.

If you want to apply for a hardship permit to maintain limited driving privileges, you’ll need to pay a $75 application fee and an $85 reinstatement fee to get your license back. You’ll also be required to have an Interlock Device installed on your vehicle, which you’ll be financially responsible for.
